Hamcation

HamCation is large hamfest held in Orlando, Florida. They promote themselves as the second largest amateur radio annual event.

Ohio ARES NVIS Day

The Ohio Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) Near-Vertical Incidence Skywave (NVIS) Day is an opportunity to practice local communications using HF frequencies below the Maximum Usable Frequency (MUF). The exercise will run from 10:00 to 16:00 local time.

Armed Forces Day Crossband Test

Armed Forces Day is on the 3rd Saturday in May. Military radio stations will transmit on military frequencies and listen on amateur radio frequencies. Stations, times, and frequencies can be found here.

Hamvention

The Hamvention in Dayton, Ohio is the largest amateur radio annual event.

June

MUSEUM SHIPS ON THE AIR

This event is organized by the Battleship New Jersey Amateur Radio Station and is held annually on the first weekend in June. Hams operate aboard museum ships all over the world to make contact with other amateur radio stations.

Field Day

The annual ARRL Field Day is held on the fourth full weekend of June all day Saturday and Sunday.

Parks on the Air

The summer POTA Support Your Parks weekend is also the annual POTA plaque event and is held on the third full weekend in July.

Ohio QSO Party

The Ohio State Parks on the Air (OSPOTA) is held annually on the first Saturday following Labor Day.
